The Yellow Sofa Series

The Yellow Sofa Series is a visual journey through the diverse facets of my life, all centered around the comforting embrace of my yellow sofa. Much like Carrie Mae Weems' “The Kitchen Table Series” my series explores the significance of a gathering spot in a black household. My yellow sofa has been witness to the silent arguments with lovers, provided solace during heartbreaks, hosted red wine-fueled girls' nights, and even doubled as a makeshift beauty shop on late nights before picture day. It embodies the chronicles of my life as a mother, friend, lover, child of God, and an ever-evolving woman, showcasing the highs and lows in vivid imagery.
