FIVE WORDS: Spring Mini Session With Ashley!
A few weeks ago, Ashley and I met up at the U.S. National Arboretum located just off of U.S. Route 50/New York Avenue in Northeast DC for her very first EVER portrait session. What it honor and privilege it was to provide her with her first professional photography experience at an amazing location. We had such a fun time in the sun and it was the most perfect day to do it! The U.S. National Arboretum has so much beautiful landscapes and scenery to offer and it couldn't have been a more perfect location to photography my beautiful client. Let's chat about Ashley's fashion that was perfect for this Spring Mini Session.
Ashley's fashion picks gave me so much LIFE!
Ashley is a natural! She truly shined during her Spring Mini Session and her confidence oozed out as she began to warm up during our session. I absolutely am in love with Ashley's wardrobe, including a mustard yellow top paired with high-waisted floral trouser pants, taupe sandals, and a nice pink lippie. This is my kind of look! This particular outfit provided major style inspiration for me, as I am currently looking to update my very own personal and professional wardrobe. I loved the way each wardrobe element flattered Ashley and fit her comfortably, thus allowing her to feel relaxed as well as comfortable during her session. I think her ease, comfortability, and confidence translated well and is reflected in all of her portraits. What do you think?
Why I ABSOLUTELY love portrait sessions!
What I love most about portraits sessions is the opportunity to capture in their most authentic selves and allow them to have a great time in whatever environment they are in. It's really about teamwork between the photographer and the client, and an exchange of ideas and visions with the hope of understanding of brining the big picture to life. With some posing guidance, you'd be amazed of what type of dynamic and powerful images you can create!
Maleshia J. thoughts on exploring local attractions
As a DMV-native, I recognize that I am geographically fortunate to reside so close to many of the nation's historical landmarks, such as the U.S. Capitol, the national mall, national parks, the Smithsonian museums, and other FREE resources available to the general public. The U.S. Arboretum is one of those gems hidden in plain sight that I've passed by throughout the years, but I never really made the time to stop and explore the landmarks nearby. A few weeks prior to our session, I made sure to change that and even brought some family along with me. I am looking forward to exploring more beautiful and rich areas and landmarks within the DMV. And you should too!
Imprints Questions of the Day
In closing, i believe that portraits are something that everyone should experience at least one time in their life. I have two questions for YOU:
(1) When was the last time you had your pictures taken?
(2) If so, where did you have your pictures taken and for what reason?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Comment below!
Until next time - peace, love, and happiness!
