2020 is the year of clear vision and new beginnings... then COVID-19 hit. Businesses shut down, everyone was mandated to stay inside their homes during quarantine, many lives were lost, and traditional/customary events such as prom and graduation ceremonies were completely taken away.
It seemed like all hope was lost, but then we all began to embrace this "new normal" and make the best out of our circumstances. We began to get creative with our skills, start new business ventures, invest in our personal education, and resort to new virtual opportunities. The celebration of life and accomplishments did not fall to the wayside at all.
Now as we are transitioning to the other side of quarantine as many states have begun their reopening phases, I am thrilled and overjoyed about getting back out in the world and serving the people who need their special moments captured the most.
Today, I shine a light on one recent graduate, Laneé Sheffield, who earned her Masters of Education in Reading from Bowie State University. This is no small feat on its own. Earning a Masters of Education required lots of hard work, prayers, sweat, tears, time, and money, but with God, this dream became a powerful reality. The journey was not an easy one, but God kept her and her family throughout this entire journey.
I am honored to personally know Master Laneé, a recent graduate of the Masters of Reading Education Degree Program. I am so proud of her huge milestone. She is my friend, sister, supporter, and travel buddy in this journey called life. She may not physically walk across the stage in this season, but she and her family will be celebrating her accomplishments for the rest of 2020! I’m excited to celebrate another Black Queen with a Master’s Degree!
Congratulations to the Class of 2020! Check out these beautiful portraits from Master Laneé's graduate portraits session!
