It's been a minute, but I'm still in in! Hello my lovely Imprints Family! It's been a while since I've hopped on the blog, but there's no better time to do it than NOW! I have a few life updates to share with you. Strap in your seatbelt and get ready to enjoy the ride!
Where do I begin? How about where I last left off... graduate school! At the tail end of my Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering graduate program, I moved back home to Maryland after completing all of my coursework. All that was left to finish was the written portion of my thesis. Fast forward 2.5 years after the big more, life at home got real and I had to get a full-time job while working towards finishing my degree. It wasn't an easy road to the finish line.
During that time from moving back home, I had gradually started transitioning to the entrepreneur life by starting my very own professional photography business, working this full time job (at the time), and making it known that I am available to serve the people with my photography services. You can imagine that the last 2.5 years were very hectic and trying for me. I was literally juggling 3-4 different obligations to help make ends meet. Ya girl was STRESSED!
Long story short, after many sleepless nights, many tears, much prayer, the strength and endurance of a warrior fighter, and the grace and mercy of God, I can finally and happily say that I have completed my Masters of Science program in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. Not only that. I have also officially made it though my first year as a business owner, and I am finally getting back to taking care of ME and doing what makes me happy: exploring, photographing God’s beautiful world around me, connecting with others, and exchanging life experiences with others.
In my first year of business, as well as the years leading up to it, I have been researching and learning techniques to enhance my skills as a photographer. My role as a photographer is bigger than me. I'm not merely snapping pictures, but capturing special memories that only happen once. I am serving the people in a visual way. Someone is entrusting me with their vision with the hope that I can bring it to life. This is my gift given by God, and how I may serve and glorify Him through my works, gifts, talents, time, and energy. I would not have been able to make it this far without His guidance.
